Nintendo's second console is nothing to balk at. Designed to accept enhancement chips that were being developed and integrated into the cartridge games, NOA was able to release a system that was future proof and continuously stayed competitive. Laughing at its rivals, NEC and Sega, the SNES stuck it's chest out with advanced graphics and sound capabilities that were unmatched. Even though it overlapped the life of the NES and had stiff competition from other systems, it still managed to sell a hefty 49.1 million units by the time Nintendo pulled the plug in 2003. Friggin' Super Mario World......need I say more?
